Polyurethane wins again
Trolley for the medical sector made with RIM (Reaction Injection Mould) technology in compact structural rigid polyurethane Baydur®110 FR, replacing sheet metal while integrating form, function and structural strength.

The Challenge
The use of high-performance materials in place of sheet metal enabled an evolution of the design language, improving the product's aesthetics and the integration of form and function, as well as structural strength.
Requirements
Compact structural rigid polyurethane with V0 classification, paints with high resistance to scratches and UV rays.
S4Technology: an "END to END" approach
The project involved the complete development of components in compact polyurethane Baydur®110 FR (Flame Retardant), with in-house management of the entire development and production cycle.
Activities included component design with the definition of technical specifications and tolerances, the industrialisation phase, mould design and manufacturing, the fine-tuning of the moulding process and series production. Development was carried out in co-design with the customer, enabling the optimisation of design solutions and the selection of the material according to performance, aesthetic and fire-resistance requirements.
The integration of the various phases allowed direct control of process parameters and moulding cycles, ensuring compliance with specifications, process repeatability and the quality of the finished product. Verification and validation activities were also carried out, including dimensional and functional checks.
The supply also includes a partially assembled trolley, with integrated bill of materials (BOM) management, covering component coordination, procurement logic and pre-assembly operations.
